Partners including Dog Haus, Wag, RAB and New Vision Veterinary Hospital shared practical guidance for a safer and more responsible festival experience.
We are pleased to share that the press conference for Dog Fest Kigali 2025 was a productive and insightful session that brought together key voices committed to advancing responsible dog ownership in Rwanda.
Dog Haus addressed the importance of dog training and behaviour management, emphasising the role these practices play in creating a safe, enjoyable and well-organised event for dogs, owners and the wider public.
Wag highlighted essential welfare practices and the responsibilities that come with dog ownership, while also presenting thoughtful ideas for the future management of stray dogs. Their contribution reinforced the need for compassion, structure and long-term community solutions.
The Rwanda Agriculture and Animal Resources Board (RAB) provided much-needed clarity on newly released rules and regulations related to dog ownership and public events. This guidance will help participants understand what is expected and prepare appropriately for the festival.
At New Vision Veterinary Hospital, we emphasised the key health requirements for attending dogs, including up-to-date vaccinations and other preventive health measures. We also reminded participants that first aid services will be available on-site during the festival to support prompt animal care if needed.
We extend our sincere gratitude to all media houses, guests and partners who joined us today. Together, we are building a stronger, safer and more responsible dog community in Rwanda. A special thank you goes to @maran_design for ensuring the venue was professionally prepared with excellent visibility and presentation.
