The programme focused on equipping officers with practical skills to support the health and wellbeing of dogs that serve an important role in national safety and security.
We had the honour of training officers from the Rwanda National Police and the Rwanda Defence Force in canine veterinary care — an important step in supporting the dogs that play a vital role in national safety and security.
Working dogs require knowledgeable handling and appropriate health support to perform at their best. Through this training, officers were equipped with practical veterinary knowledge that helps them better care for the dogs under their responsibility.
The programme also created an inspiring exchange between veterinary science and public service. By sharing knowledge and strengthening capacity, we can help ensure that these highly valuable canine teams receive the quality of care they deserve.
We are grateful to contribute to a programme that bridges professional training, animal welfare and national service. It has been a privilege to be part of this journey.
