Facts about traveling in and out of Rwanda with your pet
Enter Rwanda
- Rabies Vaccination: at least 30 days prior but not more than 12 months prior entering the country
- Health Certificate from a certified vet not older than 14 days
- Deworming (5 days prior of leaving the country of origin)
- Import Permit

After receiving all necessary documents, the import permit is ready after 4 to 5 working days.

Transit Rwanda
The transit visa for Rwanda is valid for 48 hours. The same requirements apply as for an import permit.
- Anti-rabies vaccination: at least 30 days but no more than 12 months prior to entry.
- Health certificate from a licensed veterinarian not older than 14 days
- Deworming (5 days before leaving the country of origin)
- A transit permit.
