In order to get a valid Export permit your dog needs to vaccinated against Rabies and have a valid RABIES TITER TEST.

We need to see your pet within 10 days before departure in order to make the required health check and issue a valid health certificate. After we have all the information we can start the process.

If you need to go to the EU, but your pet does not have a European Vaccination Card (Petpassport), or the one it has does not contain a Rabies Titer Test – which is mandatory to enter the EU – it is not a problem. We can both validate the Titer Test on your Petpassport or issue a Rabies certificate valid for to enter the EU for your pet, and either service will only cost an additional 15,000 RWF.
However, please be also aware that to enter with your pet in another country, you might need, to fulfill other requirements connected with import permits too if these are present. Please inform yourself about import requirements, as we are not capable to track them for each potential country.
“My dog is vaccinated but does not have a valid Rabies Titer Test”
A valid Rabies Titer Test is necessary in order your pet to be allowed to travel to other countries. This Test needs to be issued at least 3 months before departure (United States: 45 days before departure) and at least 30 days after the last Rabies Vaccination took place. Once issued, this Rabies Titer Test will be valid for the whole lifespan of your pet once you update your pet rabies vaccine on a regular basis. (EXCEPTION: You want your pet to travel to the USA)

After sending the blood samples, we usually get the results one month later via certified soft copy (email) which we will forward to you. We will also inform you, when the samples arrive at the Lab.

My dog is NOT vaccinated against Rabies
Rabies is a 100% deadly disease and not only dangerous for our pets but also for humans. However, it is luckily also a 100% preventable with a regular applied vaccination.
It is mandatory for your pet to be vaccinated against rabies in order to travel.

In order to get a valid Export permit your dog needs to vaccinated against Rabies, has a vaccination certificate and a valid RABIES TITER TEST. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THIS RABIES TITER TEST HAS TO BE ISSUED YEARLY FOR GOING TO THE STATES and at least 45 days before departure.

Pet is going to South Africa
My dog is vaccinated but does not have the required CDC Documents (click for more information)
Unfortunately South Africa has one of the strictest and most complicated travel regulations for pets. But DON’T WORRY! With us, you have the right partner on your side. We will guide you through the process and do EVERYTHING necessary to bring your pet safe to South Africa.
First things first!
A few IMPORTANT INFORMATIONS you need to know:
- Once the process of exporting hast started you and your pet need to depart from Rwanda within 30 days
- Your pet needs to be chipped (if it is not until now, we can provide this too)
- 30 days before departure, you need to bring your pet to us so we can take blood samples. Those samples will be sent to South Africa for further analysis. (This process can take up to 3 weeks)
- Please provide your pets vaccination card
- Please also note kindly, that we can only start the process after proof of payment (details see below)
- In this time please apply for a South African IMPORT PERMIT
- 10 days before departure. You need to bring your pet again to our clinic so we can make a health check and apply for the Rwandan Export permit. We will also provide your pet with everything they need to be allowed to enter South Africa (SA Health certificate, Parasite treatment,…)
